In 1854, Jesuíno de Castro Rego opened an Optics and "Physica" and "Mathematica" instruments business at the so called Santo António Street no. 137 in the city of Oporto. In 1877 this business was bought by Emílio de Azevedo Campos and it was then called EMÍLIO DE AZEVEDO CAMPOS & FILHOS. Subsequently, when Emílio de Azevedo Campos died, the company was called EMÍLIO DE AZEVEDO CAMPOS, FILHOS. Since then, the Company has always been a property of the Family Azevedo Campos.

All the departments in Lisbon were transferred to this new building, except the Professional Video Department, that was kept at the Ferreira da Silva Street. So, at this time, the company had its own structures in the North with about 1800 m2 and in the South, in Alfragide, with an area of 1200 m2.
